I won’t forget to wish y’all a Happy new year.
It’s really hard to believe that we’re in the year 2007, time moves endlessly with the hands of the clock going clockwise continuously as though it would never cease.
Time is not and has never been static and what seemed like yesterday has suddenly become yester year.
I just got back from the village yesterday and you bet I had a swell time. My Uncles, aunts and cousins came down and as usual it was one big happy family.
There was a lot to eat and drink and i even got sick of the food.
The remarkable part of the village is that it makes you appreciate nature in its original form, you see the world just as it was created by God.
Imagine going to the stream to get water, walking on sandy streets that has never seen the Caterpillars of Julius Berger, or any other construction company, seeing the thick bushes and forest that wasn’t cleared to build a factory or a school. The villages emanates the beauty of God’s work, but i don’t wanna live in the village. The fun that comes with the town is not there, the technological advancement is something they only hear about from other people.
It is good to always be up to date and the village wouldn’t help you with that.
Something that really drove me crazy is the fact that my mum introduced me to the whole village; She probably wanted them to see her son. “Have you seen my son”? She said. The next thing you’ll hear is “Junior, come and greet your Uncle”
An Uncle I never knew, someone i saw for the first time suddenly became my uncle.
The Family ties is just Endless, i think we’re related to the whole village, coz every single person that stepped into that house was introduced as a family member.
The most annoying part was that whenever i greeted an Uncle or Aunt, they always said “He’s grown so big, Look at Junior of Yesterday”.
If they saw me as small as i was when last they saw me as they claimed, they’d probably run away, so why are they surprised that I’ve grown.
All these happened at my maternal village, as I’ve not been to my paternal village in a very long time.
I really had a great time at the village and I’m happy i was there, and even happier to be back home.
Its 2007, its the third day of the year. This year is really gonna be a hectic one for me because i have a lot of goals which i must achieve before the year runs out, i hope i can make out time to blog.
HAPPY NEW YEAR.
